Applications for the 2026-2027 school year will open on February 15, 2026.

University Academy is an open enrollment university charter school. This means:
- we are tuition free,
- we are a public school - we follow TEA policies, teach the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS), and take STAAR tests,
- we do not have attendance boundaries, and
- we partner with the University of Texas at Tyler School of Education.
Admission criteria:
- All applications will be accepted and offers for enrollment will be made based on seats available in the student's requested grade.
- Three years of disciplinary history will be requested.
- Please read our Non-Discrimination Policies.
- Each April we hold a lottery to fill available seats for the upcoming school year; remaining applications are place on a wait list.
- While a lottery is in place to begin the admissions process, enrollment is open all year. All applications received after the lottery will be added to the wait list in the order they are received. Available seats in any grade level will be filled from the wait list all year long.
Applications for the 2025-2026 school year will be accepted through April 9, 2026.
University Academy accepts applications for student enrollment year round. To apply for admission into for the current school year, please download and complete the form below. Return by email is preferred.
